Mumon and Gödel
Zen Koans and unprovable truths. Transcending the system.
What do a Zen Master and a Logician have in common? They both understand the limits of systems. A Zen Koan (like 'What is the sound of one hand clapping?') is designed to break your logical mind, forcing you to step outside the system of logic to find enlightenment (Mu). Gödel does the same for mathematics: he constructs a statement that cannot be proven within the system, forcing us to step outside to see its truth.
